vLocPro2 Overview:

Vivax-Metrotech‘s vLocPro2 utility line locator provides the functionality required by the experienced field technician and the simplicity needed by new users. It is a lightweight utility locator that uses carbon-fiber and ABS construction and provides market-leading reliability. The vLocPro2 boasts a user-friendly color display with intuitive menus which allow the user to customize the locator as necessary.   It is the locator of choice for contract underground utility locating professionals.

The vLocPro2 locator has over seventy active frequencies from 98Hz to 200kHz as well as several passive modes, such as broad and narrow band power and VLF radio and optional SD (Signal Direction).  Once the location of the buried utility has been identified, you can use the compass feature to quickly trace the line.  It has a fast, dual-core processor and superb locating functionality using twin peak antennas.  The vLocPro2 uses left/ right guidance with null antenna, line orientation with compass antenna, automatic depth and current measurement.

vLocPro2 Standard Features:

The vLocPro2 is a customizable utility line locator.  In order to build a complete kit, the user can purchase one of several different available transmitters (see below).  In addition, they can purchase an  induction clamp, and numerous other available accessories.  However, the receiver will come in a bag with lithium ion rechargeable battery, battery charger, alkaline batteries and holder, and manual.  It comes standard with the active frequencies listed above and several passive modes.

Available Upgrades and Customizations:

The Vivax Metrotech vLocPro2 pipe and cable locator can be customized as a kit with a number of utility locator transmitters and accessories.  In fact these transmitters come in a range of output powers – from 1 watt to 150 watts.  This creates a utility locating kit that’s perfect for the user’s specific needs.  The user can also purchase a signal clamp if needed in order to induce a signal on a line when direct connection is not available.

Vivax-Metrotech software supports optional Bluetooth for GPS for longitude and latitude, and displays all the information instantaneously and simultaneously on a large color display.  In addition, an optional external GPS unit can be added to mark locates with GPS data.
